George H. Connell III
George Connell was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1996 with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration. At the University of Georgia, he majored in Risk Management and Insurance. In 2001, George Connell graduated from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas with a Masters in Business Administration. At the University of Texas, he concentrated in Real Estate Finance and Entrepreneurship.
Upon graduation from the University of Georgia, he began work with Marsh, Inc. (formerly known as Johnson & Higgins), the world’s largest risk management consulting and insurance brokerage firm. While at Marsh, he was responsible for accounts across several industries including real estate, hospitality, chemical production, tobacco and non-alcoholic beverages.
In August of 2001, George Connell co-founded the partnership, Archer Properties with the business objective of providing high quality multi-family housing and hotels in growth and niche markets. To date, he has developed, acquired and repositioned over $75 million in residential real estate including over 1,500 apartment rental units. In 2014, he joined forces with Frederic Dawson to form Castlegate Property Group.
Memberships include the University of Georgia Alumni Association, University of Texas at Austin Alumni Association, Capital City Club, and Northside United Methodist Church. Mr. Connell is a Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) as designated by the National Apartment Association. Leisure activities include hiking, golf, hunting and travel.
Frederic G. Dawson III
Frederic Dawson was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1996 with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration, majoring in International Marketing with a minor in French. In 2000, he graduated from the Alliance française, Paris, Ile-de-France, with a Diplôme de Langue.
Upon graduation from the University of Georgia, he joined Cannon Financial, a financial consulting company in Athens, Georgia. While at Cannon, he was responsible for working with senior consultants providing companies and individuals across the nation with financial consultation.
Since 2000, Frederic Dawson has been in the general contracting and real estate business. In 2005, he started Abbey Construction and Greenlaw Properties to focus on residential and multifamily opportunities. Abbey Construction has been involved with many multi-million dollar apartment rehabs with some of the largest regional owners along with new construction multi-family townhome projects. Greenlaw Properties has focused on multi-family investment. In 2014, he joined forces with George Connell to form Castlegate Property Group.
Memberships include the University of Georgia Alumni Association, Capital City Club and St. Phillips Cathedral. Mr. Dawson is a licensed Residential Light Commercial contractor in the State of Georgia. Leisure activities include family, travel, salt-water fly-fishing, bird hunting and golf.
